# Cookies and browser storage

Eggly sets the cookies listed below. It keeps a few small items in your browser's own storage so you stay signed in and the app opens as you left it. None of it is used for analytics or advertising.

### Every item kept in your browser

| `gk_token` | Local storage | Keeps you signed in on this device. Removed when you sign out. |
| `gk_device` | Local storage | A random id for this device. It is sent at sign-in and the server keeps only a keyed hash of it, to spot several accounts. |
| `gk_ref` | Local storage | The invite code from the link that brought you (an invite link, or a win a player shared with you), sent once at sign-in so the inviter is credited. The invite page and the page of a shared win also read it, so one visitor is counted as one open of the link. |
| `gk_ref` | Cookie | The invite feature you arrived through: the code of the invite link you opened, or of a win a player shared with you, kept for thirty days on this site only (SameSite=Lax), so the friend who invited you is credited and you get your own invite bonus even when the link opened in an in-app browser. The invite page and the page of a shared win also read it, so one visitor is counted as one open of the link. |
| `g_state` | Cookie | Set by Google's own button, only when you choose to sign in with Google: it remembers that you closed the Google prompt. This site does not read it. |
| `gk_agree` | Local storage | Remembers that you ticked the terms box at sign-in on this device, so you tick it only once. |
| `gk_mail` | Local storage | Remembers whether you unticked the bonus-and-news email box at sign-up, so the choice is sent when the account is created. |

> A key ending in an underscore is a prefix: the real key adds a suffix, such as the tab or the version.

### No analytics or advertising storage

No analytics tool and no advertising network stores anything in your browser from this site. The pages load no third-party script.

### Counting page views stores nothing in your browser

Each page sends one small message when it opens: the page name, the kind of site you came from, and whether you pressed a button. It reads nothing from your browser storage, sets no cookie and carries no identifier; the browser language is read from the request itself. The server adds one to a daily total and keeps no address with it.

### You can clear all of it

Clear this site's data in your browser settings, or sign out to remove the sign-in key. You will be signed out and the app forgets your last choices. Your account and balance stay on the server.
